Printing / Reporting

Print PDF
Quiz Extreme provides a number of options for printing quizzes, study guides, results, and other reports.

When you "print" something in Quiz Extreme, it does not immediately send it to the printer, but rather, it generates a preview of the report or printout and opens it in the editor area of the window. The printouts are generated as BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools - see http://www.eclipse.org/birt for more information) report documents.  When Quiz Extreme shows a preview of the report/printout, you then have the option to print the report or export the report to another file format including PDF, Microsoft(R) Word, Microsoft(R) Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Printing Quizzes

To print a quiz, select the quiz in the navigator at the left side of the Quiz Extreme window. Then, click the button on the Quizzes toolbar.  You can then choose the type of printout: Standard Print Quiz, or Flip Study Guide. Alternatively, while editing a quiz, you can click on the "Print" hyperlink at the top of the Quiz Editor:
  • Standard Print Quiz: This creates a printout of the quiz that is suitable for administering to students via paper. Still images will display on the printout, however, video and audio clips will not.
  • Flip Study Guide: This unique printout is used by students as a study guide. Questions are presented on the left third of the page, the answers on the middle third of the page, and the right third of the page is folded over to cover the answers. Students read the question, then flip open the flap covering its answer to check themselves. It is basically a way of packing a lot of flash cards onto a few sheets of paper. The best way to understand how it works is to create one, and then follow the assembly instructions at the top of the printout.

Quiz Results and Performance Reports

Quiz Extreme has a number of powerful reports to provide the test administrator with the ability to view and analyze quiz results. To access these reports, expand the "Results / Printing"  item in the navigator and click on one of the following items:

Search Results

The "Search Results" option provides a way for the test administrator to view a list of quiz results in a quick, concise, manner.  You can specify a number of filtering options to get just the results in which you are interested.

To acquire a list of results:

  1. Specify any filter criteria in the fields on the left side of the editor window.  You may leave them all at their default values (in which case all results will be returned), or you may specify any combination of criteria.
  2. When you have finished specifying filter criteria, click on the "Show Results" hyperlink located below the filter criteria.
Depending on the number of results returned from your query, this may take a few moments.  If there are no results, a message box will display a message indicating no results were found that match your filter criteria.  If results are returned, they will be displayed in the grid covering the right side of the editor window.

Removing Results

To remove one or more quiz results from the system:
  1. Acquire the list of results as described above.
  2. Put a check in the check box next to each result you want to remove (click "Select All" to select all results on the screen).
  3. Click the "Remove" hyperlink located just below the results grid.
All of the selected results will be removed while unselected results will remain in tact.  IMPORTANT: Once results are removed, there is no way to recover them.  Be certain you want the results permanently gone before removing them.
